Finance graduates from 10 American universities earn the most, and the top spot is surprising

The rewards of going to college have always been a topic of discussion. Under similar conditions, the impact of attending a university with popular and high-paying majors on future income is a question that parents and university applicants need to consider.

Salaries are high in finance, technology and management consulting fields. The annual salary of college graduates studying these majors is generally higher than that of most other majors. The school they attend is also critical.

The Wall Street Journal reported on March 29 that Burning Glass data showed that in the 10 years after graduation, alumni who graduated from the MIT finance major and entered the financial industry earned an average annual salary of $175,000, which is higher than the average annual salary of college graduates in this field. $73,608 more.

Burning Glass data also shows that the average salary of finance graduates in the first 10 years of their careers is just over $100,000.

Of course, universities that earn more in similar fields after graduation are not limited to the Ivy League and top universities in the United States. Graduates from some public universities can also earn high salaries in the industry.

Matt Sigelman, president of Burning Glass, said the universities with the highest salaries for graduates in similar majors provide graduates with a range of resources to enrich their careers. Among them: Graduates of Ivy League schools and top public schools can tap into vast alumni networks. Liberal arts alumni learn soft skills that can help them move up the corporate ladder. Service academies graduates acquire potentially lucrative traits such as perseverance and hard work. Recruiters are flocking to colleges around Silicon Valley and Wall Street.
